On January 19th, we had our Shinnenkai (New Years Party) where we sat around one long table, chit chatting and talking about technical issues, like how to set up a blog and how to capture video for your computer.

Ernest Schaal discussed getting help for problems you have on your computer (and for other problems as well). He discussed how isolating the problem, researching the problem in the manual (shudder) and on the internet, and reporting the problem if all else fails.

November 2007 Meeting
Alex McLaren discussed Google SketchUp, a 3D modeling program designed to be more intuitive and easy-to-use. Google SketchUp can be used for Architecture, Interior Design, Landscape, Film & Stage, Urban Planning, and Game Development, but Alex focused on the Architecture and Interior Design aspects of this free Software, which runs on both Mac and PC. Digital Photography Part 2
In the second of two presentations on digital photography, Nick Minear covered how to correct your photos after you have taken them. Using an example from someone in the audience, Nick showed how to remove noise from the photo, how to crop to focus on what you what to show, and how to remove undesirable objects using the clone tool.

August 2007 Meeting
There was no regular meeting of the NIPCC in August. Instead, we had nine people on a Skype conference call (including people in Japan, Canada, the United States, and England).
